Stapedectomy
A stapedectomy is a surgical procedure on the inner ear to improve the patient’s hearing…
If the stapes footplate, located within the inner ear, is sitting in a fixed position rather than being mobile (as it should be), this can result in conductive hearing loss. In order to effectively improve the patient’s hearing, our Melbourne ENT surgeons are able to remove the stapes bone and replace this with a micro-prosthesis.
If you suffer from poor hearing, it is important to see a qualified medical practitioner for an opinion or referral.
